Secret Codes

38 posts in this topic

Hi,

I read somewhere that the climate control can be set to display a digital reading of the speed etc.

Does anyone know what the codes are and how it's done?

Why? What does it do and what is wrong with the normal speedo?

Have seen this for sale on eBay.

Doesn't tally with the codes the air con shows on my A6.

I followed the instructions, but the codes are totally different.

At least I can swap from degrees C to F and back again now.

Will somebody put everyone out of their misery and just either post a link to the codes, or a list of codes here? smile.gif

I can't display mine, unless I look really hard at it. I can see them, but the backlights are dead.

I know, I can change the bulbs, but you have to take the climate panel out and to do that, the sides have to come out etc etc. I cannot see how the front wood/plastic panel comes out, and I do not want to break it trying. (hint, hint)

I changed the bulbs on my V8, but that was much easier!

Ah Ha, all very interesting but........... a quick scan of the info did not reveal the code for vehicle speed in MPH (code 17 is for Speed in KPH). Maybe I missed it. But for those hard of seeing, is there a code for the vehicle speed displayed in MPH? And how do I get the display back to the 'norm' again? confused.gif

It doesn't display MPH I'm afraid. Thats another thing they forget to tell you when they try and sell you this "top secret" information on ebay or wherever wink.gif

To get it back to normal, press the Recirculation button (1) and the manual airflow 'up' (2) button together and all will return to normal 169144-ok.gif
