Tarmac_Terrorist
I've had 50mpg out of my 1.4 TSI 140. All the economy of a diesel without the noise, smell & soot yet the benefits of a petrol. Happy days!

rjgreen4
[ QUOTE ] rjgreen4 - do you run on Shell V Power? [/ QUOTE ] no, had to get rid of the S4 as the company was not too happy with the fuel bills and the constant use of Optimax.
pingpongpo
Why does fuel economy always drop through the floor when it gets cold? I thought air conditioning was supposed to hammer your MPG but mine averages far higher in the summer.
Rustynuts
Cos it's colder, it takes longer for the engine to get up to operating temperature and until then it uses more fuel. Also, you'll be pulling heat away from the engine when using the heater so it'll run cooler.

shark_90
Not bad considering how you drive Will be going for the record of 749 miles in the 80 challenge of joy once I've checked over the fuel timing thing as I know the car's overfuelling at the moment

Cris
I average 52mpg even with urban / back-road work. Best ever was a predicted range of 921 miles remaining after driving 25 miles home from filling up (tank is ~60l). I reckon I could do better if I really tried and that was a mixture of A, B, dual carriageway and urban. Probably need to get out more.

edo
A3 TDI 170. Did 46mpg this morning without trying, even theough the car has done under 200 miles.. Think 50mpg is easily achievable!
bazza_g
after promising I wouldn't talk about fuel economy....I'm talking about fuel economy took this pic after the drive home from work today - if you take the trip + the range left its nearly 600 miles I did drive quite carefully to and from work today, apart from when I had to give chase to a cock in a 3 series who changed lanes without indicating and cut me up
