Soundwave
My golf tdi 130 (as yet un-modified) gave me 66mpg when i drove from Great Yarmouth to Hatfield (herts.) driving very carefully all the way. It literally clicked from 65.9 to 66 dead just as i pulled into my street and boy did that feel satisfying! Day-to-day, i get about 52-53 if i drive reasonably sensibly, and it dips just below 50 when i drive without taking any economy precautions. If i have the air-con on, then you have to take off a further 1-2mpg off each scenario, depending on how long it's switched on.

Durrsaku
Well the Fiat 500(chinquecento) is an icon. Their JTD diesel is an excellent engine too.

Snail
[ QUOTE ] Sorry mate, it's a diesel forum... but we could make you an honourary member if the other club members agree [/ QUOTE ] Right, as moderator here, im going to have to step in, and make a decision on honourary members. The petrol engine is a fundimental problem, we really cannot allow just anyone in the 50mpg club, if we start with petrol vehicles, where will it all end? Chavs being accepted, or even worse, women drivers
