Turning circle of Mk5 GTI

10 posts in this topic

Hi all,

I'm new here and a soon-to-be owner of a red 3dr Mk5 GTI M/T 18" alloys + full option (interior).

Am a bit concerned about the the turning circle of the GTI, and the dealer has no info on it. Wonder if anyone here can comment on both 17" and 18" wheels?

Many thx, omak

Haven't you test driven it? I've driven both and can't say I noticed any difference between the 2, or indeed any other car. It's not an issue I've ever considered. Have you had probs with a particular car in the past?

Take a look at this Group test where the figures quoted for the 2.0 GT TDi are 10.9m turning circle / 3 turns lock-to-lock. Presumably the same for the GTi.

No test driven available in where I live, hence the question in the forum. Had previous experience with an Alfa Romeo 147 which is known for having a large turning circle. Thx for your comments, glad to know it doesn't seem to be an issue.

my god you must be the only man on the earth that cares about 'turning circle' (except for the 10,000+ london cabbies!) grin.gif

well, if you live in a small city with very narrow roads and tiny carparks you might be too. Flush.gif
