shao_khan
Hi Welcome to Tyresmoke - please dont shout - I'm at work and you woke me up. EML - Engine Management Light? THats the light with the engien with the lightening through it. Any reliable VW specialist will have a VAG-Com device which should tell them what has caused the fault, you havent said what part of the country you are in so people will nto be able to advise of local places to you. You might also want to check out www.newbeetle.org.uk as they will also be able to advise you of suitable places.
twedspeed
already tried that , local dealer couldnt I.D. fault , and wants to charge me 170 quid to find the fault manually , and heres the best bit , the 170 is not included in my waranty , when i got it back from the dealer the light had mysteriously gone out, only to return four days later so again does anyone out there know what this light could be
shao_khan
Well it comes on due to a fault, now it could be the fault wasnt logged (my last MAF failure didnt register as a fault) or it could be that it did register and the dealer cleared it in the hope you would pay up. OR thirdly it could be the dealer didnt know how to use the equipement!!!! There will be some more techy people along soon.
