Yahoo
I'm looking to chip my MkV GTI. How does the remap alter the characteristic of the power delivery? Is it similar to the standard delivery - just more of it. If this is the case I imagine that it remains easy to drive on a day to day basis, just with quicker acceleration and more torque when required. Is this the case? aswall
That's certainly been the case with my past BMW diesels, even got better mpg as well! Assume that the VW would be the same as they're just tweaking fuelling and turbo I think
shao_khan
It will depend where you go for the remap - you will find that torque and power delivery will be pretty much different for every one - that was certainly the case with 1.8T tuning. Usually the German tuners (Oettinger, MTM) seem to keep close to standard graphs in the past just bigger numbers, where as some others seem to ramp torque figures up pretty quick giving a fast feeling but potentially brutal acceleration.
