sayerbloke
Calibra is FWD as standard, so it sounds to me either it`s all complete rubbish, or all it had in common with a Calibra was the bodyshell. Still, there are certainly worse looking cars than the Calibra, sounds like they kept the best bit
NewNiceMrMe
Are you sure it was a Vauxhall Calibra and not a Eurofighter Typhoon as shown below?
Thorburn
A Vauxhall Calibra has a surprisingly short bonnet too, can't imagine you fitting an '11 litre' engine in there length ways. Or even the standard engine.

NewNiceMrMe
OMG. 0 - 174mph.....8 seconds!!!!!!!!!! My apologies for doubting it! That's ridiculous!
Thorburn
Yep, same here although as mentioned before, its basically just a drag car with a Calibra shell over the top of it Very impressively quick! Not really a practical road car as to get that sort of launch it won't have a differential, it'll have a spool, which will make turning a little difficult! That and the power 'bulge' would hurt visiblity away from junctions a bit.
sayerbloke
You just know some ricer will try and copy it. Also on that site: Interesting...

sayerbloke
"Ferrari Imola 600". So probably. Stepping on the toes of the 612 though, perhaps?
sayerbloke
Yes. More HERE
Thorburn
Nah, the 600 is going to be a 2 seater and more driver focused, like the 575. Using the same basic chassis though I think.
sayerbloke
Is this the sort of story we're supposed to submit to the News Stig?
Thorburn
Nah, I think we should keep it to people who care about the E36 M3's tailpipes
sayerbloke
Yeah, that`ll teach them not to read every story! I`ve submitted it anyway because I`ve never sent anything to News Stig before and want to see what happens next

Thorburn
Ricer, think all the people in The Fast And The Furious. 'Japanese' modified crap, horrible wings and bumpers onto Civics, Supras, Skylines etc. Or even those huge 'Veilside' style bumpers on a Saxo. sayerbloke
Started off as Japanese, but soon kits started appearing for other makes. Amusing/cringeworthy examples to be found HERE
Thorburn
Thats a superb example, especially the badly beaten rear arch, not particularly subtle different colour of the wing, drill holes unfilled and stickers that actually saw The Fast And The Furious. I dream of owning a car that looked that damn cool
Thorburn
For a mere $3000 + shipping + painting + fitting I could make my MX-5 look like this! I'd better start saving now!
beez
Good to see you're looking at a colour change.
sayerbloke
I`ve seen that kit before. As bodykits go it`s not bad! Don't think I`d go to the expense if I had an MX5/Miata though somehow
Thorburn
[ QUOTE ] Good to see you're looking at a colour change. [/ QUOTE ] Please, if I changed the colour it would HAVE to be a flip job, going green, orange and yellow, all luminous like highlighters!
beez
I think you should do it. I was thinking of getting my bad boy resprayed white and getting clear rear lights put in. Then I decided the car probably isn't worth it.

Thorburn
I like the colour of mine so I don't care Can't really take the piss out of Java Blue either as my Fiesta was that colour and it was alright for a Ford.
