RohypnolSlag
I have a strange problem with my 5-series. It is losing water somewhere, which is causing it to overheat if I forget to keep it topped up. I also keep getting airlocks in the radiator which is causing me no end of fun at 11pm in laybys. There's no oil in the water, no water in the oil, and no obvious leaks. Running the engine whilst the car is standing causes no water at all to come out. If it is relevant, it's the M50 engine (24v 2.5 without VANOS) with a manual gearbox. Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated. Cheers. cruiser647
You could always top it up with coollant? If I have a water leak, I do that until it stop evaporating. Also, does that model engine have the plastic impellered water pump? This is known to disintegrate. The replacements are now metal. Might be worth swapping it out........ Just suggestions. Hope they help.
