I am guessing Tom's TV doesnt have either of these connectors - just a normal aerial connection, in which case I think you are fecked mate. Cheapest way to convert the signal would probably be through a cheapo VCR which had scart in and RF out - but then you might as well buy a DVD with an RF connection for that kind of money!

How about one of these:

I cannot vouch for the product or seller. I am at work and bored, so have been googling /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/169144-ok.gif

I couldn't find anything from the more...reputable retailers and tbh, it does look a little cheap and nasty, especially for £20.

Maybe it's time to buy a new TV /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/169144-ok.gif

I presume you just do the following...

Ariel lead ---> DVD player Ariel In
DVD Ariel out ----> TV Ariel in.

But def get a new telly /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/169144-ok.gif

Might have to be careful with macrovision... Sometimes when you try to pass DVD signals through to an RF via a video, you get lines across the screen as a kind of copy protection.
You should be able to get a cheap tv with a scart on - there's plenty of 2nd hand ones on ebay.

no just going to a caravan for a week and dont have a tv with a scart socket , want to take a dvd player, and the tv there just has a RF lead, dont want to spend any money really getting it working , so guess ill have to put up without one ! need one of those portable dvd players, but they are to expensive
