spankit
[ QUOTE ] She was panicking and was parked on the air pump bay! No, she wasn't pretty!! That's my good deed for the day done! [/ QUOTE ] Beggers can't be choosers! Arn't you getting on a little, to starting getting picky. Should have changed her tyre, put her punctured wheel in your hatch. Given her a spin to the local tyre center. All the time chatting her up, lots of fluff talk. Aranged a date, get her slightly tipsy on the date and back to hers for 'coffee'. Had your wicked way, then move on to the next lady in distress
RedRobin
Hi mu... IIRC = If I Remember Correctly. I had to ask too and now I'm finding it quite useful btw.
RedRobin
You rumbled me! I stick upturned nails in the air pump bay and lie in wait ready to pounce. She was much older than me and I ain't that desperate anyway...."Isn't there ANYTHING I can do to thank you?" could have been pretty scary!! scotw
I can imagine her face "Is there ANYTHING I can do to thank you?"...."Hmmmm well yeah, you could give my alloys a clean now you mention it"....probably not what she had in mind
R32North
For those of you puttinmg air in at the loacl petrol station etc, just be warned that many 9of pretty inaccurate. I only use a cycle pump at the house and a digital pressue guage so I know when it says 32 psi, its is 32psi and not something else. I've tested some sir pumps at petrol stations round my way and they can be 4 or 5 psi out!!!
RedRobin
Ta for the Heads Up! Do you use a 'T' foot pump?
kazmart
Tyres pressures should also be adjusted ideally when the tyres are cold. If you have been driving for a while before you make adjustments then the pressures won't be strictly accurate. You'll also be surprised at the difference if the car has been standing for a while with one side in the sun and the other not!!
R32North
[ QUOTE ] Ta for the Heads Up! Do you use a 'T' foot pump? [/ QUOTE ] I have a Joe Blow hand / foot pump. Lots of bikes so I need a fairly good one. The guages that come on these are also unreliable so best to pick up a quality tyre pressure guage. RedRobin
A Big Thankyou Martin! - I forgot the Tyre Monitor Set button. Easy to miss such things as I have not had a car with this feature before. Cheers

OzGTI
Hi Zoom, Your in Australia right? If so your placard is very different to mine. Mine only shows KPA - with a full load - 210kpa front and 300kpa rear. No reference to PSI at all. I'm on 17" (Conti's) - interesting on detail on the placard for 18" at all. Only 16" and 17's. zoomx3
yes ozgti. Im in Brisbane. I can’t remember the full load figures. All the information on mine is in kpa’s, no psi’s . ill take a photo of it.
OzGTI
Cheers Zoom, That makes sense...from here in Melbourne. Funny about not havng details of 18" but rather 16" though I think.
frsygti
So should the tyre pressure for 18 inch be 34 psi for all tyres?
R32North
[ QUOTE ] So should the tyre pressure for 18 inch be 34 psi for all tyres? [/ QUOTE ] What does it say inside the petrol cap ?
frsygti
2.4 bar. But i'm not sure that that's correct because the car came originally with 17" Could be that the dealer forgot to change the sticker inside the petrol cap
zoomx3
ok guys, this is the sticker i got with an australian model with 17" tyres. ive got a feeling the tyre pressures are related to rim type? am i right here?
zoomx3
ozgti, i think the tyre pressures for your car should be 230/210 (read across) and not 210/300 (top down). or you'd be pumping rear tyre pressures on all your tyres, one for a low and full load!! the diagram is a little confusing i think. took me a while to work it out. why cant they just print there - front / rear or something
