Drillslinger
Yeah, that was the day, since I was making a point to take a look Oh well, I didn't have the time I nneded in either case. As of yesterday I'd gone about 1k kms with the warning light on, so I figured it was TIME AAMOF, she's in right now getting the discs and pads fitted, I'll pick her up this evening. Drillslinger
OK guys, question, how can I tell if my brakes have been bled after the disc/pad install? My brakes grip real good initially, but then there's little in them. And when I'm at a stop, the pedal feels "spongy" Could this just be normal until they bed in?? Thx,
peterb
[ QUOTE ] Could this just be normal until they bed in?? [/ QUOTE ] It could be, yes. See how they feel after a couple hundred kms.
Drillslinger
OK, I've got about 300 kms on them now, so on the way home tonight I'll do some "Testing"
gambba
Drill, Just bear in mind they normally say around the 800Km mark for bedding in, so don't be too hard with them yet. I think I might get my fluid changed, but i hear that a dealer has to do this to get rid of the low fluid level light...is that correct?
Drillslinger
I THINK so, IIRC resetting the warning light is a VAG-Com thing. But if the fluid gets topped off, it might go off. I'm personally gonna look into replacing my fluid with the ATE DOT4 blue stuff, it's supposed to be quite good, and doesn't absorb water.
