Calm Chris
On the TV on Friday there was a stroy about one of the round the world race boats having managed a staggering 540 miles in 24 hours, that's 23 mph average over the time. I wonder how many sick bags the crew got through?
scooby_simon
They are all professional sailors (lucky bu66ers) so I am sure not too many. It is now up to 546 which is not too bad for a 1/2 boat. All time record (orange II Catamaran fully crewed) is 706.2nm ! That is an average of 29.42kts Now here is the scary bit 40% might have been in the dark All sorts of other stuff here
Calm Chris
Thanks, have read a few articles on the ABM crew, very interesting stuff. Got to be a little bit nutty to do some of that stuff, mast climbs to 120ft @30k sail speed, 40k wind, mast whipping 15 degrees. Nah, I'll stick to doing stupid things, on land!
