karllap
The engine management light was on my Golf V5 2002, the readout said Code 16516 / 02 sensor circuit B1 S1 P0134 No activity Detected The garage diagnosed from this that precat Lambda was shafted and changed it, reset the codes and everything was fine for 3 days but then it came back on with the same fault. When they reset the codes the management light went of, stayed of for a few days again then caim back with the same fault. Has anybody any idea what this could be. Also, I don't know if its relevant or not but the low screen water light is on, I've shorted the switch out and it stays on. HELP!
Mook
Welcome to Tyresmoke Karllap I don't have an answer for you, but one of our resident techs will be along shortly - Mulkbear or Tobes are the most likely to pipe up on this one. asta
Looks like they didnt fix the source of the problem. Something must have caused the lambda sensor to fail and whatever that something is it hasn't been fixed. I'd go back to the garage.
karllap
In fairness trhe computer says that the lambda was faulty so thats why they changed it, when I take it back all they can really do is look at the diag read out which will say its the Lambda again . I've noticed that if I disconnect the battery it resets again, and again the light will stay off for a day or 2 then come back on. Has any body any idea at all what could be causing it? Thanks
Skidmark
Have they checked the wiring & the plug to the lamda ? You may have a broken wire and/or poor connector....water getting in or corrosion in the plug itself. cheers
joffan
I had this problem with my Mk5 GTI,turns out the wire connecting the Lambda was at fault. I'd ask them to have a look at that if I was you.
