Pincher
Tried winmpg? Download trial version here
Mook
The QuickTime v7 free download from http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/win.html should let you place the .mov file straight into PPT and play from there. I run Win XP SP2, PPT 2003 as part of Office Pro and QT 7.
Mollox
Mook, what about if I then send it on? Will my clients be able to open it or will they be in the same boat?
Mook
They'll need QuickTime installed on their PC, so maybe a converter from .MOV to .MPG files would be the best option. Our production agency uses Adobe products for TV and save them out in whatever format is needed to use them in PPT etc. - trouble is they're all £600+ products, rather then free downloads, so I can't suggest one... Mollox
Yeah, its only a single-use need that I have. Feck them, they can have them as attachments and sort themselves out What is it you do, Mook?
Mook
I used to own a specialist software company and sold it in December and am now on the board of the group that bought us - we specialise in marketing services for big retailers, inc print, logistics, design, video production and, erm, software [/advert]... Mollox
Ok, this winmpg converter looks like its about to do the job - I just need to know (really quickly) which codec to go for - I need maximum compatibility Cheers

Mollox
Ahh. don't worry about it, winmpg leaves a fecking overlay on top of the converted video so I'm back to square one
Rachel
What about one of the Nero products? Their video software is pretty good based on my experiences with it on one of my Thinkpads. Does anyone in your company run Adobe Premier, Pinnacle, Avid, or Final Cut Pro? They'll do a media conversion (being editing software).
Mollox
Yep, thought of that - already explored that - he's a lazy fecker and I can't be bothered to argue and I need it now. I'm just hyperlinking them into the pressie and supplying the source vids on a the CD. Bingo, bobs your uncle! Not ideal but it gets it off my desk and out to the client
