RedRobin
Ouch!!!!! It looks very likely that the occupants would not have been seriously injured. Looks like a glancing blow happened. Spain?

rs32
nasty. in the first pic if you look at the bonnet > A Pillar line above the point of impact there is no noticable change so this is a testament to the strength of the MkV shell. and very reassuring to see the airbags fully deployed as this was no minor impact by the look of things. it's never nice seeing any car like this hopefully all occupants are OK. Paddy_Driver
Now that we have assessed the damage and hopefully ascertained that all occupants are safe and well - We need to now speculate on what happened. I think GTI was powering up the hill and overtook the bus, that is now stopped down the road (In corner of picture 2), but did not take into account the little car (What are they called again...?) pulling out of the junction (Or little car pulled out and did not see GTI)... debris field up the hill seems to suggest this? There is an unbroken white line up the hill so someone is in trouble... Any takers..? Paddy

Oli
You can tell thats a little french car.....look at the state of it! The front end is completely missing!
silentandy
Looking at the way the front end is missing from that car and the way the wings are bent in the same direction, it very much looks like it pulled out in front of the GTI which was going at a fair speed. nhs
Crashed???? Nah, must have been an emergency stop..... (Airplanes never crash, they just have emergency landings)
fresco1
Maybe 5 seconds before impact the driving instructor said "When I tap the dash I want you to perform an emergency stop" ...
fresco1
Doesn't this prove once and for all that red GTIs ARE faster?! I'll leave it at that, I think I've peaked.
