nik_codling
Hi everyone, My car has done 64k and doesn't appear to have had a new cambelt yet. It's got a full service history otherwise, and certainly appears in very good order under the bonnet but it would be good to have the peace of mind to have it done. I've done cambelts on bikes but never on a car - how long should I expect it to take, and is there anything tricky I need to watch out for? cheers, Nik

nik_codling
Funnily enough, I got it done last week at German Auto Engineering in Portsmouth. I'm driving to Italy tomorrow, so felt it was best to play it safe! cheers, Nik

nik_codling
Sorry for the slow reply, just got back from Italy last night. I love my A3 - 2650 miles in ten days, including a non-stop drive to Italy - 1050 miles in twenty hours. Used no oil, and was generally as good as gold. Slight misfire occasionally, but I'll post separately about that. To answer your question, it was about £220, and that included fixing a stripped thread on the sump plug. _Tone_
Because its under warranty and was under the impression I would have to get it done there? Have I been a twat?
chiller
I thought that as long as you had it done at a reputable specialist or garage the warranty wouldn't be harmed.
Hopsta
AFAIK is that all you need to do is use genuine Audi parts and have it done at a VAT registered establishment and your warranty should be fine Personally i only paid £200 all in for the sooty
