When you get snapped!

18 posts in this topic

Am curious to know how other TSNers feel when they are out and about in their pride of joy and someone will pull up along side of you, sit behindyou, or even in front.....sometimes all three, and take pics or even video. At first this pissed me off a bit cos of the other driver's manic driving while trying to take a pic, but now I'm getting used to it a bit more.

How do other peeps feel?? I had a couple of snappers on my way back tonight, car was very unusually clean and gleaming, bit louder than normal and I was sat in traffic trying to get to the shop for a bottle of Hennessey.

Last month while driving to pick up my kids from Canary Wharfe, I had a truck driver with a video camera alongside of me, which was ok....didnt mind that too much.

When I see a camera, I am not sure whether to smile, ignore it, give em the finger or do my party piece.

film cannot quite capture the sound of those Monaro pipes FIREdevil.gif

but as long as it's innocent interest, no problem IMO.

Although if it makes you very uncomfortable then try to get away from the situation. Suspect 2nd gear should take care of it yelrotflmao.gif

Well.....this might suprise ya, cos so far the peeps I have spotted taking pics are from a

Range Rover Vogue sporty thing

Audi A8

TVR Tuscan

TVT Sagaris

Audi A4 diedel thing

Audi S4 cab

Mondeo ST 220

M3 E46 Cab

M3 E46 CSL

Porsches (whatever they were)

Bentley GT

Intersting that the only chavvy car to take a pic has been a Vectra GSi and that it. I've probbly missed loads and not even been aware, but only made a note of what I have seen.

Your party piece could be drinking the Brandy at the wheel, that'll shock the feckers 169144-ok.gif

Must show you the new mod. A great conversion of the centre arm rest to a refrigerated coctail cabinet. Keeps Mel happy for hours, and certainly eases her nerves......and mine too wink.gif

I had it happen a few times with the RS6, mainly in the few weeks before it was debadged. I can't say it ever bothered me. After all, what were they going to do with the pics? If you want a pic of a car, you can just get one off the internet - it doesn't matter if it's mine.

I had a funny one today.

Was on my way back from Seven Hills Road after viewing a house. There was quite a bit of traffic, very stop start sort of journey.

At one point I ended up in some slowish traffic with two kids on mopeds infront of me. Both had L plates on and were pissing around talking to each other, weaving around, slowing down, speeding up. When I cam up behind them they both started turning back to check out the car. Crouching down like they were racing me on R1's, but we were only going 15mph.

Eventually I got a clear patch and they dissapeared in my mirror.

Then a few miles along (not on the same road) I find myself in more traffic. I'm only moving about 5mph. When one of the kids on the moped drives by at about 10mph. Raises his arm in jubilation as though he's just pulled an overtaking manouvere in a GP.

As I scratch my head trying to figure out WTF this kid is on and how I might get some, I look in my mirror. And spot his mate with his phone out making a video of the whole thing.

I got followed by some nutter in a green Audi once, taking pics of me. I eventually established that he was 'friendly'....We both pulled into a layby and I discovered it was fellow TSNer shark_90! 169144-ok.gif. He later posted a pic on TSN.

I don't think it's ever happened, but I have had potential nutters trying to talk to me about my car(s) at petrol stations, in car parks etc. I usually just smile sweetly, say "Yes, it's very nice, thankyou" and make my exit.

I have never noticed that happening to me, but if it did i would be pretty flattered - when people talk to me about the car i can see them thinking "i wish i hadn't said anything" as i can go on for ages - I love my R and when people show an interest then thats pretty cool in my book! reminds me of what i used to be like when i had my Nova GTE and I looked on in awe when an Escort RS Turbo went by!

Never had it whilst out in the car (no suprises) but i have out on the bike when stopped. The people who recognise what it is though tend to be like-minded people with a good understanding about what it is, so i'm usually pretty happy to stand around and talk about it for a bit. laugh.gif

I had a chap in a Shell garage stop me and ask what my car was a few weeks back, I said "Golf GTI" he looked at me puzzled as if he'd never heard of Golf's...so I pointed to his and said it's the MkV of what you're driving... coffee.gif
