Leppy
Hi All, Has anyone any pics of a red Gti MkV with painted side skirts and rear bumper? But on the back bumper the central black piece where the exhausts are, I want to leave black. Also, would you colour code the bottom lip on the front or leave it as the black plastic? Cheers
allanon_1980
I did the sides and back of my laser blue, leaving the black inner section at the rear bumper as it was. I decided to leave the front lip black also due to kerbs, stone chips etc.
RedRobin
Depends a bit on where you drive most. For country lanes etc it's more sensible to keep the front and sides 'black' plastic. The rear doesn't get effected (19,000 miles with no problem).
silentandy
If you search back long enough, probably a year or more I posted some pics of a colour coded red GTI which was my stealers demo car. If you can't find it I will try and dig them out later on.

Leppy
Thanks Singapore Paddy. Exactly what i was looking for. The back bumper looks excellent as do the sides. Still undesided about colour coding the front lip. I don't use it on bad country roads, so contact with anything is not really a problem. Hmm decisions decisions...!!! Opinions please?? TP27
[ QUOTE ] Hmm decisions decisions...!!! Opinions please?? [/ QUOTE ] Go for it. I think it improves the GTi!
faidilah
i had no choice, it was done already by dealer and i was happy enough... the issue will be it looks a little unbalanced to have the black front out of line with the rest... though frankly it's only us GTI obsessed lot that will see any difference
Tarmac_Terrorist
I assume you have to inform you're insurance company of any colour coding? What sort of premium hike have you experienced if any?
RedRobin
In my case - No premium hike at all for my completely aftermarket Abt rear valance - It's just listed with the other mods.
