StevenTubby
Have you guys seen it, a 3.2 V6 Eos – it's a bit slower, both ofthe mark and top end, but you'd expect that with a convertible (all that extra chassis strengthening etc.) No mention of 4-motion though, could be a bit unruly without it. What do you all think – worth a test drive? I know it's a little bit hairdresserish but the wife wants to move to Spain and she suggested it knowing that we wouldn't take the "R" and that I would never come down from my mighty V6 and you know lots o sun! StevenTubby
Ahhh, just searched the forum and it's covered sorry for wasting space!
TP27
Not wasting space at all. Eos is a good looking car but IMHO the 3.2 litre "package" is a waste of money in that vehicle. I'd personally go for the TDi.
Mook
Very true. A few people have slated the A4 Cab with the 2.0TDI, but it's a well put together car and the 2.0 TDI is a strong engine
StevenTubby
Cool, thanks for the advice, the wife has already picked up brochures etc. and I pretty much drew the same conclusion about the 2.0 v 3.2 last night (cept I was thinking perhaps the 200ps FSI with a few extras. Not sure if I want to give the "R" though, shame that it dosen't have the 4 motion and other specs that really make an "R".
TP27
I've driven the EOS in TDi format, if you can, get a test drive in the TDi ? I suspect you'll realise that it's the better drive and IMO the car that will depreciate less.
mb
Spain must be a little hot for a convertible though surely ?
StevenTubby
I know what you mean, but they do have a winter of sorts which is when i'd enjoy the convertible bit, however during the summer it would be roof up air con on! d4ve
Are you planning to take a uk car there permanently, I've been told that there are a few issues with this.
TwoSheds
I'd check out the supply position on the 3.2 as well. I'd heard it was June 2007 but don't know how true that is.
Tarmac_Terrorist
I've never driven a convertible TDI but they do seem to be growing in popularity. For me, I could only drive a petrol varient...surely a huge part of the fun is listening to the engine. I can't imagine a diesel could provide that essential ingredient. Each to their own I accept
Matt R
We will have a 3.2 Eos here in the next fortnight, so i don't think supply will be an issue!
StevenTubby
[ QUOTE ] Are you planning to take a uk car there permanently, I've been told that there are a few issues with this. [/ QUOTE ] No selling up "R" included! Then buy a Left hand jobby. Now I don't know if this is an easy option but I was thinking of buying the car in Germany and perhaps driving back down to Spain in it. I have heard this could help me get more motor for my money possibly something like this Fat Eos Although the Eos is the wifes Idea lost interest when I found out the 3.2 was not a subsitute for the "R". But the link above might have changed my mind back. I'm a fickle c*nt!
Richy
I was very keen on getting one of these but after seeing it in the flesh I have gone for a GTi instead. It is a great car but a bit feminine for my liking. Perfect for the other-half (so you can steal it on sunny days )
bro's car
Dont bother going for a 2.0 EOS, they do nothing but leak. I have recently purchased a new EOS and have be plagued with water, water, water. Unless you want the car to double up as a swimming pool!! robsales
Possilbe cause for leakage is if you've had Supagard/Lifeshine/Diamond Brite applied! Volkswagen dont recommend this as the chemical in the protection eats away at the roof seals and isnt covered under warranty!
Matt R
or just a design fault! you wouldn't be sticking up for them just cause you are a salesman:confused:
robsales
or just a design fault! you wouldn't be sticking up for them just cause you are a salesman:confused: Not at all Matt, have heard of a few leakages but very rare on EOS to be honest.....unlike the Peugeot 206 cc, early models leaked like a sieve and even if seals were replaced they always leaked!!!!!
