SamD
Check out MTM Bimotos if you want 19's for the S4. Check out QST. They really do look the dogs danglies
egoold
I agree the Bimoto's are excellent however always been a huge fan of BBS cross-spokes. Would love LM's but just can't justify the expense. I like to do the whole OEM+ look on cars so certainly the MTM bimotot's would favour that look. I had 19" BBS CH's on my TTR which looked brilliant just want to try something different this time.
SamD
I have to say I am not keen on BBS wheels on the S4 (other than the LM's). The Sportec Mono's look quite good (P_G_ has them I believe). How about som RS4 replicas? The OEM wheels do look very good though, I would stick with them and see how you like them before changing for something else
TDiAvant
My S4 Avant with RS4 reps, these are 18" but they also do 19".

Like Sam I'm not a great BBS fan, plus fear the cleaning of them! Do you have a B6 or B7? And do you have the new S4 alloys or the Avus III's. IMO the new split spokes are a nice wheel. egoold
It will be a B7 and will be coming with the new split spoke wheels which i am not a fan of prefer the Avus III wheels.
rottenbend
There might be someone on here who would do a swap + cash with you? Obviously, as yours is a new car you would expect like new wheels... Personally, I like the Avus III and would only consider the Bimoto/Sportec option if I was ever to change. I think that on a B6 the RS4 reps are a bit wannabe - different on a B7 though.

tonygould
Whats the diffrence between Avus II'S & Avus III's
rottenbend
I always thought the Avus I's were 16", The Avus II's 17" and the Avus III's 18" but it's bound to be more complicated than that!
Cupramax
Its not the sizes that it refers to. Avus I's were on B5 S4's and the original S3. II's were on the B6 S4. Not sure where III's come into it??? dont think they exist.
P_G
They do, Avus III's are concave whereas Avus I & II's are not. I had Avus wheels on my S3 and they have a flush face, the S4 Avus' do not.
J_C
That was my understanding too (although there were also subtle changes to the designs as the wheel got bigger).
SamD
So what do I have on my S4?
rottenbend
The S4 B7 definitely has Avus III's. I thought that the Avus wheels on the B7 were the same as on the B6 but I haven't looked that closely. Also I thought the ur-S4 amongst others had the original 16" Avus wheels which were of a different design to those on the B5 S4 which in turn are different to those on the B6/B7. Anyone got the definitive answer! Will22 should know - he's owned them all
Cupramax
[ QUOTE ] The S4 B7 definitely has Avus III's. [/ QUOTE ] The early B7's S4 had exactly the same wheels as the B6... which were Avus II. B6 B7
P_G
Having had a quick search Avus I is 16", Avus II is 17" (both flat faced) and Avus III is 18" (concave)
rottenbend
Looks like the B6/B7 have Avus III's.
Cupramax
So what are Avus II's then?
rottenbend
The B5 S4 had them. The original 100 based urS4 had the 16" Avus I's.
tonygould
has anyone else noticed that the avus wheels on a B7 seem to fill the arches better than those on a B6?
TDiAvant
I won’t be leaving the RS4 reps on the car, I will be changing back to the Avus III during the summer months and use the RS4 reps for the winter as they as easier to clean. But as rottenbend said they are a bit wannabe... But O feck do I wanna RS4....
