New TTR

19 posts in this topic

Today I managed to borrow this little gem from my friendly dealer....3.2 TTR, S-tronic, BOSE, Cruise, etc etc.

First opinions? Lovely! Sounds fantastic with the roof down, goes like stink if you shove it in S mode (average 19.1 mpg after my 3 hours) and also great fun using the flappy paddles. Relaxed cruising, no apparent scuttle shake, good handling, bit windy at 100 + *kph of course* cough * absolute head turner and I want one. grin.gif

Or do I? tongue.gif

PS - Not keen on the turbine wheels. frown.gif

Maybe I've moved on but it just doesn't grab me like the Mk1 did. frown.gif

I think it is more diluted but it certainly does turn heads still....but I still think I prefer the coupe version, however...roof down, sun shining and today was an awesome driving fun experience! cool.gifgrin.gif

I prefer the Mk1. 169144-ok.gif

Mk2 coupe would be my choice. smile.gif

Is a 2 litre quattro planned confused.gif

Very nice!

IMHO the MK2 roadster looks better than the MK2 coupe. Still prefer my MK1 though.

Mind you, if they were to do a MK2 coupe with a black roof, rear seats stripped out, recarro buckets.... smile.gifcool.gif

Cheers

Mark

Well I'm really happy with mine. Having driven V8's for ages, the V6 has really impressed me. Its hard to say but the 3.2 TTR with £3-5k of extras is pretty good value IMHO.

Been and seen the 2.0T Roadster.... and I have to admit my wallet was nearly out...

Black half leather half alacantera (sp?)... electric hood, wind break, spoiler etc.... albeit FWD, although most say they are better than the 3.2 Quattro.

Low frills version kicking out at £27k all in brand new, but then theres not much more you need after Dolphin Grey Metalic.... maybe change the standard wheels at some point to RS4 jobbies.

But with a waiting list extending rapidly and no discounts forecast for a while, this is going to be one slow depreciating car...

Just look at the used prices of a mk1.....

Superb Roadster and at 0-60 in 6.8 secs its not too slow....!

Extended test drive next week....

moving some money around today just in case...:D

This could be an expensive week!

I put £4k of extras on my 3.2 (and didn't have NAV). Have to say it is deeply impressive.

6.8? Really? I'm surprised. My old 1.8T 225 Coupe was 6.4 as standard. I thought they'd be faster with the 2.0T and without the weight and losses of the quattro.

I suspect traction issues from FWD bring it down a bit..
