Damunk
This is incredible. Passengers side if full of water. Cooient light always comes on and I have to refill after every Journey. Strange thing is... no water actually leaks from underneath the car.. It just comes somehow into the passengers side. and even on the drivers side there is some dampness. It is a 1996 1.4 Litre Polo. I have had a look at the engine and there is no water to be seen.!!!! Where is it leaking from? Furthermore, I Ive been told that there are no pipes to do with the engine collent, that go underneath the car. So how can one explain? Ive just come from Holiday and I get a problem like this. God help us.
Ritey
Could be leaking behind the dash if one of the heater pipes have perished? I'm no expert though but my first port of call would be to get some leak stop from a local motor factors and see if that helps bung any potential holes. Rustynuts
Possibly the heater matrix. You know, the thing that the fan blows through to produce heat inside the car. Coolant pipes run from the engine to the matrix and back out again.
Damunk
You are right! Thats what it is. How can i solve the problem.. I have to remove all the dash? It is behind the heater... Is it a crack in the pipe. How can I rectify this my self. I can not afford to take it to the garage.
Rustynuts
Off to a scrappy or breakers yard, and pick up what you need. Best idea is to find one where you remove the parts yourself, and then you know how to do it when you start on your own.
