redlion
I am close to changing the tyres on my 520d Msport saloon, the mileage on the original set will be around 40,000 which is good for a set of tyres, however I wondered if anyone has changed out the runflats for normal tyres & what difference it makes to ride quality, wear & tear and tyre noise. gizze
I would say ditch them, you can get a spacesaver for £120 from BMW, and then buy a set of Falken FK452's for £380 fitted, really good tyre, far more grip, more comfortable, last longer and cheaper. Plus it is far easier to get a spare sorted quickly if needed.
Dragos
So Will the Falken Tires fit on the Runflat rims? I was always under the impression that the run flat rims were different. Sorry if its a stupid question.. David
gizze
Yeah of course they will. Just some stupid fekin' tyre fitters don't even realise!! Any tyre can fit on any rim that is EH2 or EH2+ (which means it has a bead to keep a flat tyre on the rim), however, you can't put a runflat on a rim that is not EH2 or EH2+. So any tyre on a run flat rim but it you can't put a run flat on a regular rim. Nearly all rims made these days are EH2 or EH2+.
