honda type-s MPG very low...

Got wife a new civic type-s for running about in. Its on 3800 miles and its only gettin 29Mpg and does look like it drinks the petrol compared to the A3 2.0 fsi she had in past.

The car only does short 15 min run to her work and back and gets a run to leeds if i take it instead of the A4.

the advertised combined is 38 but we have to take that with pinch of salt.

The car gets high speed run when i have it but doesnt really get much in way of redline,

thoughs.....

The short runs are killing it, thats where your economys gone, whats it returning on the long run?.

Yep would agree that it's the short runs that are causing the problems, as is the newness.

Another couple would be the falseness of the fuel economy tests and finally that I'm not sure that this 1.8 is one of Honda's better efforts.
