DHA
Needed some new tyres fitted on the GP and didn't really fancy going the kwik-fit route so found Event Tyres who fit at your house/office wherever. All done in 45 minutes, guy was very exacting in his work and was happy to chat about the balancing of the wheels etc. Not too bad a price all in either. craigyb
I've used them for my A8, very good service, they moved all the tyre pressure monitors from 19" wheels to 20" wheels without any charges. Very good on prices to.
MarkB
Heard good things about them on RS246 also. I've use etyres mobile fitting once and they scratched both wheels. Haven't tried event tyres myself though...
techieboy
Yep the etyres guy scratched all four of my alloys (not badly though) on the Audi a few weeks back when I swapped my tyres. Used Event Tyres the week before for the tyres on my VX and absolutely no problem. Very good and I've seen them at a few track days recently, swapping tyres and balancing, etc. I guess a lot of it is down to the individual fitter but I'll certainly be using Event Tyres in the future. jwo
same here with etyres - bloke scratched alloys - didn't use a shrouded socket. haven't used them again.

DHA
Just used event mobile again to fit some new PS2s to the golf. Same guy who did the mini first time round. Again very good service
CarMad
Yep I've used them for mine when I replaced the full set, cracking bloke and a great price.
Biscuits
I always use EVENT, so do my collegues. Great prices and they really look after your rims.
Biscuits
The fitter that comes out to us each time (Peter... we are in Kent) said that if they scratch/damage an alloy it comes out of their own pocket. Probably why they always use a plastic sleeve and take extra care.
craigyb
Just used Event in Old Trafford, huge bolt through a front tyre. Fixed and wheels cleaned in double quick time. Can't recommend these guys highly enough.
shark_90
I just checked on the Event site as I lost a tyre on the way back from Germany this weekend (fecking rubbish Belgian motorways), but they don't cover my postcode unfortunately
scooby_simon
Just checked and they are 50 quid (8%) cheaper than my local place on the same boots for the WR1; might consider them when I'd killed the next set on mine - usually between 5 and 10K miles...... silentandy
Anyone used Event in the Birmingham / West Mids area? I'm looking for someone that is not going to scratch my alloys - etyres did which seems to be a recurring theme.
cosmicblue
I have used Event twice - absolutely excellent - both fitters were even happy to give me time to clean up the insides of the Audi RS6 style wheels before refitting. Top service. I live in the West Mids.
Chick
I've used Event recently - came out to the house, a very professional service, arrived on time and fitted my tyres in no time at all....
dogbucket
I used them a while ago based on some of these reviews and was not that impressed tbh. Asked the guy several times to be careful with the wheels as they were mint. Although a cursory inspection by me before I signed off found nothing, later found some damage were he had levered on the rim to get the tyre off. Also said about not throwing my metal caps away, which to be fair he didnt on the front 2, few days later noticed the rears had plastic caps. Obviously very much down to the individual fitter you get, but I thought the equipment in the van looked a bit tatty. Since then been to STS Tyre Pros in East Grinstead and wow what a difference. New equipment and they used rim protectors etc and really took care. The mobile guy just wanted to get off to his next job I think.
DHA
Just had event round to do two tyres on the mini. Not as good service as before. The fitter was a different guy and didn't understand why he needed to use the jacking blocks on the mini (err because you will damage the car if you don't) and the concept of fitting new tyres to the front wheels then fitting them to the rear of the car was lost on him. Will probably go somewhere else next time........
_Tone_
Hmm we just got 4 new tyres stuck on the TT and all was ok - and the price was reasonable. Maybe worth calling and just letting them know? Tone

Booster
Anyone used these guys recently? For the umpteenth time, what is the tyre of choice at the moment? I only need new front tyres, am I ok to get a different brand for the front and leave the Dunlop Sport Maxx GT's on the back?
Biscuits
Anyone used these guys recently? For the umpteenth time, what is the tyre of choice at the moment? I only need new front tyres, am I ok to get a different brand for the front and leave the Dunlop Sport Maxx GT's on the back? Yep, used them for the fourth time a couple of months ago, fitting 4 Falken F452's on the S3. Great service and price as always, but I'm not sure which tyre is best for the A5. Pilot Sports or Goodyears Asys........ or the Falkens, which have been bloody great for the past 6k miles.
Booster
Cheers for that. I am leaning towards the Dunlops again having read a few threads on a5oc.com. They have been a good allrounder for 19k miles and the rears have loads left on them.
DHA
Used them again recently (only place I could get the tyres I wanted) but they were actually better than before. Different fitter compared to my poor experience in November, its clearly dependant on who fits the tyres. PS2s have been changed to PS3s now I would guess there are the tyres of choice if you want cat **** to blanket type grip?
Booster
Booked and they are coming tomorrow morning. Far cheaper than I can find anywhere else and convenient as they come to you. Glad I don't have to pay for the bloody things though: £224 a corner
