davyk31 Posted August 22, 2007 Report Share Posted August 22, 2007 In my other car a Honda CRV when I fit the child seat you pull out the seatbelt to its full extent and this kinda makes it into a ratchet type action whereby whenit feeds back in it tightens immediately. Therefore when it is wrapped round the baby seat you can pull it extremely tight. However, does this happen also in the GTI? When I tried to fit a seat in the GTI the seatbelt remains quite loose and only tightens in sudden shock as is normal. Is there another way? And yes I do know Isofix is best but this is just for very occasional use in the GTI and he is nearly too big for the infant seat therefore not worth the expense of going for Isofix.
