We it seems that ever since the Audi R8 was launched Audi have been inundated by requests to make a race version. So Dr Wolfgang Ullrich head of Audi Motorsport put the wheels in motion and here we are an Audi R8 GT3.
Gone is the 4wd, its not allowed within the regulations so its rear wheel drive only. Its stripped out and has an uprated engine that will produce over 500bhp, no news on what engine is in the back of it yet. It could be the V8 or the V10 but its not going to be the W16 engine from a Veyron as the R16 tag might suggest.
Its not due to be in a competitive race series until 2009 and no word on the price, I guess if you have to ask you can't afford it .....
