Although about the USA, it's about time..............
Currently, in accordance with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 108, a vehicle’s rear-turn signal can be either amber or red. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is wondering what the public thinks about a new proposed regulation that would mandate a vehicle’s rear turn signal to an amber-only standard. NHTSA says that amber turn signals have proven to be 5.3 percent more effective than red turn signals in preventing accidents. While 5.3 sounds like a fairly small percentage, NHTSA says that it’s statistically a significant difference. European countries already require that their turn signals be amber.
