these are all good for 50-100 BHP increases. a Purge kit would be good fun at the lights too to show the chavs in novas who's boss.

Dry is better than Wet!! Better useage and safer.

I was allways under the impression the wet kit are far safer than dry kits?

Dry kits dont add any extra fuel in, this causes the engine to run lean (very hot) this causes pinking. Also most dry kit are only available in low HP cause of this reason

Used to run a 1992 Audi 2.0 Coupe with a 50bhp NOS kit. Highly entertaining, but can become addictive and therefore expensive!!

Remember a UK Fiesta Network person fitted NOS, second time he used it the engine light on his dash came out, car had destroyed 3 or the 4 valves in one of the cylinders.

Mine was insured for road use, but my other half was at the time working for an insurance company and had it signed off by a friend who happened to be the head of underwriting.

but the BHP increase of a wet kit will make the engine so hot that you run the risk of deforming your head gasket. swings and roundabouts.

I remember a friend putting NOS on an already very quick bike and it was an incredible hoot - could wheelie it starting at 100+ ! The NOS man who installed it said he had never had a customer he couldn't give enough power to but I do remember the bottles didn't last very long...

Hi everyone, my first post on here and looking at some of the replies on the subject Nitrous i would highly recomend it, and wet kits (fuel and Nos combined) are what you need to avoid detonation of your engine

I have a 5 cylinder non turbo 20v engine in my 1988 80 quattro and have recently installed the nitrous oxide "Cold Fusion" kit and what a difference it makes

Well worth the money and the smile and im only running 50 bhp at the moment with a 75 and 95 hp increase to go.

The 20v non turbo engine is rated for up to 350 bhp before internals/conrods need replacing and as the engine is only 170bhp standard i have room to manuover, this is something you need to think about before you go shoving to much through your engine.

As for a diesel on Nos i plan to remove the 5 cylinder 20v and fit a 1.9 TDi engine in my 80 quattro summer 2010.

opinions vary on the subject Nos but i wouldn't leave home with out it

Nogin

In for a penny, in for a pound, isn't that what they say when it comes to resurrecting 3 year-old posts?

Check this out. Anyone thinking about NOS, has either forgotten about this Fifth Gear article, or wasn't watching that episode (shame on you)..
