Tuning Box Ditched - Golf Remap Needed In W.Yorks

Afternoon all, Ditched my tuning box this dinnertime as it was causing... or at least i think it was that causing rough idling and some smoke under heavy acceleration, Need to some help in finding a decent place to take my 02 plate GT TDI 130 to get remapped, i tried to contact "well lane turbos" in batley but received no reply. Which tuning box did you have? I've just fitted mine today (www.mrhoot.com). The car is fine and doesn't seem to be smoking at all. [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]

Morning, to be honest I have no idea, a mate of mine (who is a mechanic) said he could get one of these tuning boxes, and he said he knew a few people that used them on the Audi and vw PD 130 engines and he said they made a difference, which mine did, but it seemed to make the engine tick over very lumpy when idling in a morning also if you put your foot down at night, if I car was behind me at night with there lights on you could see all the smoke coming out of the back, with out the box on the car the smoke is minimal, there seems to be next to nothing there really. If you don’t mind me asking how much did you pay for it? And have you noticed a big difference? I did with mine the car felt to "boost" quicker and put you back in the seat a little more, whether this was wishful thinking or not I don’t no but, like I say it felt like it.... I think I am going to go for a remap now, I nice fella called will contacted me yesterday, he is a member on here and he said he would remap my car for 250 pounds.. He has done a few members cars on here and has some very good feedback on his website... it might be worth you having a look and see what you think..? A bit of a trip down the M1 but I thoroughly recommend Custom Code at JBS in Chesterfield. Their diesel remaps are superb. http://www.jbsautodesigns.co.uk/
