Thanks Robin

Is that the Road Angel Plus?

Does anybody have any experience of these?

Snooper Sapphire has a rechargeable battery - although I only 3 - 4 hours out of mine.

I generally don't favour rechargeable batteries - The concept is great but they invariably get worse and worse at recharging. Personally I don't mind the very minor amount of 'dashboard furniture' for the sake of no-maintenance hardwired reliability.

I've got an issue with connectivity....Certain kinds of bumps in the road cause my Pogo to lose connection temporarily. We're going to check the hardwiring as a first step but Origin have said they are happy to replace my unit. My suspension isn't that hard!

I have (had) the same problem re. the power socket. Its seems the plug is abit of a loose fit in the socket.

Bending the centre pin on the socket slightly did the trick.

....Ah....Do you mean bending the centre pin which is within the socket of the 'Power Bracket' [using the terms used in the Manual], so that the male jack connector has a tighter fit? [said the actress to the bishop ]

I'll try that.

I'll post here if it works for me too and then I'll inform Origin of the workaround.

....Well it hasn't worked for me. It's most definitely the poorer road surfaces which create the connectivity problem. Problems on parts of M25 and M20, and then no problems throughout the whole of France except on going fast over a couple of bridge expansion joints, and then 1,700 miles later the dear old UK M20/M25 problems again .

Reaching out and pushing the main unit back against its power base connections re-establishes connectivity but it's not good.

The other point I found disappointing was the amount of distance it takes to recalibrate itself to either mph or kmh - Not very comforting to be back on the M25 with a reading of 130 !!

On the plus side, the large speed display is invaluable and couldn't be better for keeping you speed-aware, and with GPS accuracy - It's just like having a proper heads-up display .
