Hello to everyone.
Please can someone tell me how to carry out a throttle body adaptation on a Audi A3 Quattro Sport 2001 using the Memoscan VAG5053 in very easy to follow instructions. Basically I bought an 2001 Audi A3 quattro turbo sport and for two weeks it run quite well, however it after that it started to stall and run very rough and idled eraticatlly. Usually the warning light would come on and the car would not start so I had to keep turning the key back and forth until the warning light did not come on and then the car would start. So after reading various posts I did the following: Replaced the main ignition relay. Changed all the coil packs. Changed the spark plugs. Cleaned the throttle body. After cleaning the throttle body I reconnected the battery and now the warning light (the triangle in a circle) on the dashboard will not disappear but the car will start but runs very erratically although quite rhythmically – mm mmmm mm mmmm mm mmmm mm. I run the vagcom (Memoscan VAG5053) on the car and the following three engine electrical fault were displayed; 17987 Throttle actuator (J338) Adaptation not standard P1579 17951 Angle sensor 1for throttle actuator (G187) Signal too small P1543 17580 Angle sensor for throttle actuator (G188) Signal too low P1172 I tried to clear these faults but they will not budge! In that I mean they keep reoccurring when the diagnostics are run. I think that the fact I disconnected the battery and cleaned the throttle body means that the throttle body will need adapting (is that what these codes suggest?). As mentioned I have now purchased a Memoscan VAG5053 from ebay to try and fix this car so if anyone in the area would like to use it in and around Bradford please let me know. Usually I get really fed up with cars but I really want to crack this! |
