VAG.COM gets no connection with car due to radio ?

Well i was with my car at the garage where they tried to read out my car with a system from Bosch.
But the system couldn't get a connection with my car. 2 weeks earlier they serviced my car and it worked.

Went to some other dealers and they also couldn't get a connection.
They all said of known error when there was a non-Audi car-radio installed. But mine is fitted more then a year ago.

Does this sound familiar for someone ?

Please help !

Went back to the garage yesterday and disconnected the radio.

I've only had two problems like this.

One was one Tony's banana - I didn't know at the time but it left him without radio and he had to get it reactivated.

The other one was on my car a few weeks ago. VAG_COM dropped the connection to the radio whilst in diag mode. It wouldn't reconnect and DIAG! was displayed all the time on the DIS. I pulled the fuse, entered the safety code and all was then OK.

Which fuse do you mean ?? From the car or from the VAG.COM ?
Sorry but i'm not familiar with the VAG.COM and my garage is using a Bosch FSA system.
Will it help if i disconnect the battery for a while ?

If your radio is an aftermarket one, you may want to read this...

Simply the radio fuse in the car's panel. I've never interrogated a radio that is not OE.

If you disconnect the battery I think you then need to reset the airbag warning lights [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif[/img]

I did the test they described in the aftermarket radio article.
I meassured 2,3 volts on the K-line so i won't be having this problem.
But what is blocking my communication then ? [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif[/img]
Think i will go for the hard reset: unplug the battery !

If you were to disconnect the fuse to the radio and try the vag com then should it work ? or will the radio have to be modified as per instructions from ross-tech?

I already tried with the radio disconnected (is the same as the mod which ross-tech gives) but it didn't work !
Did the meassuring, and meassured 2,3 volts. That's under the 9 volts so there's no 12+ on the K-Line !
The radio isn't the problem i'm afraid ! [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif[/img]
