I thought my key had gone flat but after changing the batteries it's still not working. I think it has got out of synch. The instructions in the manual i.e. use the key within a minute of pressing a button will resynch, hasn't worked.
Does any one know how Audi do it (which I know they do) when this happens? Thanks

AFAIK Audi uses a rolling algorithm based on the clock time to determine what code is needed.
The only way to resynch is to get a dealer to get incontact with VAG and to obtain the "next" rolling code

If you have a spare key I believe you can do it....not 100% sure on that, but if I'm right I think is states it in the users manual.

Yeah I tried that word for word. Also got some advice from someone who's done it and it still won't.
Either it's well fecked or Audi may have a secret.

[/ QUOTE ] You mean the one where you put the key to be programmed in the ignition barrel, turn it to ign position, use the good key to lock the door manually then hold down the lock button for x seconds then open the car with the remote, reaching into the car, and removing the now reprogrammed key? Yep - I've seen the dealer do it but I've never managed to get it to work! Ram
