I keep hearing early to mid 2007 and to be built in Maxico (in the Beetle factories) being batted about but nothing confirmed.

No news on the VW R36 then, the Yanks are raving about it and say theyve heard one is being released sometime in late 2006.

VW better not make us europeans stick with the lowly mk V R32 and make do.

We'll all do what VW uk tell us too, because thats what we always do and nothign will be done about it - so i guess we will get whatever rubbish they want to give us.

I believe the R32 was never originally going to be marketed in the US but when enough people cottoned on to the idea they raised enough stink to make VWoA sit up and listen and get some over there.

Now if we dont get the R36 then we just have to do the same and hopefully we will get some

I would love to see this happen - the Beetle for example has the worst gearboxes every - at 70mph on the motorway mine is at 4k rpm - what kinf of crappy design is that - OH, that woudl be because they can fob this off in the beetle because its a lifestyle change - if I thought they would do anything about it with enough people kicking up then I'd have a go, but I dont belieev they will.

R36 - they will just claim no market for it.

Are you serious? 4k revs at 70 mph?

Is this on a tdi or is it petrol? 'Cos our 130 (6 speed) is at just under 2k when doing 70 mph.
