couple of months back my 3dr Mk4 Golf started making a clunking noise in the drivers door when i put my foot down and when i braked.
My mate covered the hinges in some grease when it first started doin it and the noise did stop for a for a few weeks. any thoughts on what it might be and how i can fix it?? thanks, Loz |

I have the same recurring problem as well.
I tried grease, but I dont think it really gets right into the pivots which is where the noise comes from. A good squirt of GT85 Teflon spray every 6 months keeps mine quiet now. WD40 was not very effective so dont bother with that. I normally get GT85 from bicycle shops
