Default Bora 130 Tdi Performance issues

Can anyone help, when the engine is cold (after standing overnight) the car starts no problem but when i drive off i can put the accelerator pedal to the floor with little or no response for a few seconds then it will acellerate as you would expect.after it has run for a few minutes it is much better but it always has a delay of about 1-2 seconds before anything happens.
I,ve changed the maf, temp sensor, egr valve and the 'o' rings in turbo pipes.
Scanned by VW twice - no errors found.
Any ideas?
Thanks for any input.

What gear and speed is this happening in?

Warm the engine up tomorrow and test it again with a stopwatch, then post back on here with exactly how long it is between putting your foot down and reaction time.

Thanks for reply benjie,i'll check tomorrow, but it's like putting your foot on a sponge, particularly dangerous at junctions. What i have noticed is i can switch it off and restart it can be better or worse than it was. When it's running bad theres a slight rattle on the engine (like a pinking noise) and the mpg drops about 10.

Timed it today, driving off from start - delay about 3secs+ under about 1800 revs 1st/2nd/3rd - delay is about 2-3 secs, above 1800 revs - no delay noticable.

My golf doesn't get going until about 2000rpm when the turbo kicks in for real.

I don't think the turbo does anything until at least 1900rpm....

Well I must say I think I'm a bit stumped! I could be your MAF (I know you've replaced it) - do you have access to vag-com? You can plug it into that and read the values from the MAF (01 - Engine > Measuring Blocks > Group 3(possibly) - the specified value should be something between 230-360mg/stroke (from memory) when the engine is at warm idle and the actual value should be 10+/-.
You could have a vacuum hose leak from somewhere?

Is it juddery when cold or not?

It sometimes judders when it's ticking over when hot and cold, but not all the time.I did about 80 mls tonight and every time i accelerated it sounded like there was a pinking noise or light rattle (Just like a petrol engine running lean/timing out) tomorrow it might be ok,it's intermitent.I'll try to get hold of vag-com and have a look.
cheers

Did you manage to get this sorted? Just thinking, does the car smoke much under accelleration (either when the problem is happening, or when it's fine?)
