Default Successful Paintless Dent Removal

It was almost invisible even to the so called 'dent technician', but I decided to get the tiny dent defect taken out of my rear quarter. I used 'Chips Away' - a local Basingstoke Franchise who work out of premises 1 mile away from where I live. When I got there, there was another black GTI in the workshop. Aparently, a passenger in the rear opened the door onto something solid and bent the door edge inwards. Both the repair of mine and the other GTI look superb. I was surprised that they found access to most of the rear quarter via the rear wheel arch! The arch lining was moved and removal of a type of rubber bung behind that allowed access right into the inner rear quarter. I was pleased that no interior trim had to be removed and therefore no broken clips / rattles.
Whilst there, I also discussed repairing the 18" Monza's. (Mine are unmarked at the moment but it's only a matter of time!) The wheels would need to be sent away to a specialist repairer they use who they claim they absolutely trust and have done many similar styles. They said it would cost between £90 - £105 per wheel. They would 'machine' them again to maintain the 'milled' appearance and relacquer. They reckoned that they would even be able to keep the thin polished edge of the rim by the tyre. Handy to know I thought!
The dent removal cost £55 +vat. Seemed expensive for such a trivial mark but at least it's gone now for little more than the cost of a tank of Optimax.

Chipsaway (Guildford) repainted the rear rubbing strip between the door an drear wheel arch today - perfect job - possibly a better paint finish than the rest of the car!! 120 inc vat. Took him about 4 hours, so a pretty fair rate.

It all does seem decent value for money compared to bodyshop prices. There was also a silver MKV Golf (non GTI...very rare ) which had a scrape on the paintwork on the rear bumper behind the rear wheel. You really couldn't tell after the repair. Impresive stuff

I have exactly the same issue you "had" - going to get it looked at next week.

The local chipsaway guy recommended a dent devil friend, so will give him ago.

Mine came like it on delivery so I will not be paying for it which is good.

I think Chips Away have some sort of agreement with Dent Devils to do their PDR work. I think it may have actually been a Dent Devils person that did the work on mine.
