Yes, cos the paper ones are crpa nd need to be chnaged approx every 8k. K&N will last 10 times as long and only cost 2.5 x as much.

They don't really offer any more power, but it seems to help throttle response and the top end a wee bit - less asthmatic feeling!

No idea about online. I just popped into my local A1 Autostore, ordered and it arrived a few days later!

Might try POTN the stock K&N

I could tell a BIG difference with my drop-in replacement, I bought the aFe from AMS (http://www.advancedmotorsport.com) for about the same price as a K&N but it looks to be constructed better......

I fitted a K/N panel filter.

Immediate reactions where:

Slightly more noise
Quicker to accelarate
More top end pull

Although not a huge gain in anyway, it's one of those things that once you've done it, you won't go back to stock because you know there was a definate improvement.

Same here, you do notice the top end pull is better, and quicker throttle response

So this is different to an induction kit right? You're just talking about a filter only? Are they easy enough to fit?

I had a pipercross fitted to a 306 gti-6 that I used to have, and loved the noise it made, not sure if it made any difference to performance because I had it superchipped at the same time and that definitely helped. I probably should have the two things changed in isolation so I could tell the difference but I don't suppose it matters now.
