What is this Symbol - GOLF MKIV-W REG 1600v SE

Dear All

I was wondering whether anyone can help me please

I switched on my car today, and some symbol came up on the dash, l have loked through the manual, but it does not state what it is..

I have attached the pic.

What does this actually mean, could you describe the fault and what is required to rectify it.
Is it still safe to drive the car for the time being

It looks like the engine management light but someone in the know will be along soon to give better advice..

I loked in the manual, but there is no symbol like this on the control board

Aye, the engine symbol is the Engine Management warning light.

It goes on when something isn't right like fueling, sensors, something's bugger or disconnected.

Does the car feel weak, limp or not driving right ?

It feels a bit weak, not pulling at times, its only recently been like this

Wat do u think is wrong?

Its not the MAF - as thats to do with TDis and this is just a W REG 1.6SE MKIV GOLF - with 70K on the clock

MAFs are not just TDi's, they are on petrol cars as well!

Emissions warning light, i had mine flash when i had a misfire, tho it should have been the EPC [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ROLLEY~14.GIF[/img] but it could also means yours cats are on the blink [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/UHOH7.GIF[/img] best to get a check done... [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/169144-ok.gif[/img]

Is it still safe to drive?
