  1. Old Thread Hunt - Red 911 clean up

Can someone help me out please ? I'm trying to hunt down an old thread that showed some great pics of a red 911 that was in some state getting the full treatment bringing back to glory. I seem to remember it was standing on some gravel (maybe in a caravan park) ?? Cheers!
  2. Why do you call them "stealers" ?

  3. South Africa advice for family holiday

My second trip in 3 years to South Africa is booked. It's an amazing destination for all sorts of reasons... not limited to: Scenery Friendliness of the people Food Wine Prices Weather Animals My advice would be Cape Town for the beaches then take a drive along the "garden route" along the coast towards Port Elizabeth. There's loads of stuff for kids to see and do, especially if they like boat trips, animal parks, steam train rides, cable car lifts, aquariums, horse rides, seals, penguins, etc etc
  4. New Years Eve in Cape Town

Anyone done it ? Is it worth booking a restaurant or tickets to a bar ?
  5. Seen parking up on the double yellows outside Louis restaurant at the weekend.
  6. New Mexico - Roswell

Cheers, same response from a multitude of other travel related forums. Anyone done the Jack Daniels tour in Lynchburg, TN ?
  7. MkV Door Rust

All sorted over 3 days last week. Fine job as well including full valet. Moral of this story: Go over your car with a fine toothed comb before the warranty runs out.
  8. Post Office Charity

There was a man who worked for the Post Office whose job it was to process all the mail that had illegible addresses. One day, a letter came addressed in a shaky handwriting to God with no actual address. He thought he should open it to see what it was about. The letter read: 'Dear God, I am an 83 year old widow, living on a very small pension. Yesterday someone stole my purse. It had £100 in it, which was all the money I had until my next pension payment in January. Next Sunday is Christmas, and I had invited two of my friends over for dinner. Without that money, I have nothing to buy food with. I have no family to turn to, and you are my only hope. Can you please help me? Sincerely, Edna The postal worker was touched. He showed the letter to all the other workers. Each one dug into his or her pockets and came up with a few quid. By the time he made the rounds, he had collected £96, which they put into an envelope and sent to the woman. The rest of the day, all the workers felt a warm glow thinking of Edna and the dinner she would be able to share with her friends. Christmas came and went. A few days later, another letter came from the same old lady addressed to God. All the workers gathered around while the letter was opened. It read, Dear God, How can I ever thank you enough for what you did for me? Because of your gift of love, I was able to cook a glorious dinner for my friends. We had a very nice day and I told my friends of your wonderful gift. By the way, there was £4 missing. I think it must have been those bastards at the Post Office. Sincerely yours, Edna
  9. New Mexico - Roswell

I'm on a road trip around Texas & deep south of USA in May. Is it worth having a 2 day detour flying from DFW out to Roswell ?
  10. MkV Door Rust

VW agreed that the paintwork bubbling on the very bottom of the drivers door was a warranty item. Going in for paint last week in November.
  11. MkV Door Rust

Photos of door taken by the dealer and emailed off. VW say they want more shots of the underside of the door. Going in tomorrow for those. If anyone has an early Mk5 with the non 3D tailgate VW badge handle, check it for white bubbles of corrosion under the sealed plastic. I got a new one fitted under warranty last week.
  12. MkV Door Rust

It's going in for 20K service in 2 days. Also warranty check on bottom of drivers door which has a few tiny bubbles of rust coming through. Will let you know.
  13. Bin Man

The bin men are on their rounds pulling the wheelie bins from outside peoples houses and loading them on the truck to empty. One house doesn't have the bin outside so the bin man goes up to the door and knocks on it. There's no answer so he knocks again, still no answer so he knocks once more. Just then a flustered looking Japanese man opens the door. Where's your bin? asks the bin man. erm.. I been watching TV says the Japanese man. No, where's your bin? I said I been watching TV ! No, where's your wheelie bin ? Oh... OK I been upstairs having a w^nk !
  14. April 2005 - I got zapped by Ultralase in Newcastle. Best thing I ever did. I would have paid 10 times the price for the outcome. 20/16 vision within 10 hours of treatment, still is. Bit dry for 1st week then fine ever since. 3 People at work have had the op since me and they are all over the moon with their outcome. One regret - I wish I did it earlier !
