  1. My fuel cap release switch is situated next to the boot release switch in the bottom of the drivers door, NOT under the handbrake that every manual and Haynes book shows. Do I have to take out the whole door panel to get to it as the fuel cap release switch has stopped working. It works every now and again but you can guarantee it stops working when i need to fill up I can hear it clicking most times so doubt it's the actuator although sometimes there is no noise at all. I was also wondering if the common water leakage in passats could be the problem? I'm hoping its just the connections need cleaning but it looks a pain to get to the switch connections Any help would be gratefully accepted I have a 02 plate 2.0litre petrol
