Jon
Hi, After buying quite a few new cars and only really feeing i got a really good price on one of them i was wondering what the best way of getting the best price is? I have decided on the final spec which has most options specced, the vehicle in question is a Nissan Quahqui in Tekna spec. I will be buying partly on finance and don't really have a trade in as i'll scrap it (long story been on project sh1tcrate experiment for a couple of years lol) Any advice appreciated Jon. Tolchock
Some dealers may give you a discount but many won’t budge if it’s a new car, if its used you can haggle them down quite a bit.
steelwind101
Hi, We always take the "whatcar price you should pay" and once that is shown i havent had a dealer complain. The Quashqui is a of course a huge sucess for Nissan, so discounts might not be huge. Geoff

danksy
Go to some brokers websites and print off the best price you can find Most of them will match

My local dealer does quite a lot of corporate sales I believe so was able to offer a better discount than others due to the volume of vehicles they move. Also worth phoning dealers that aren't that nearby to see if they can better one another.
gizze
Most brokers only have around £500 off the list price on these it seems. Looks an alright car that.
Jon
Cheers guys, As it's a new model i didn't expect there to be much in the way of discounts available. Autoebid are showing a discount of £2400 off list before options which looks pretty good as the options are not that expensive as so much is standard, a big difference to my Audi experiences. Cheers Danksy! Will now go to the local stealer to discuss but have an idea of what is achievable now, won't push them too hard until the test drives etc have been done. I'm struggling to decide between the 2.0 Petrol and 2.0 DCi as i don't do a huge amount of mileage anymore (10K pa max) and whether the inbuilt Sat Nav is worth £1400 as i already have a TomTom One Europe. Not really too bothered about retained value as i plan to keep it for 5 years or more. Any advice appreciated. Cheers, Jon.
danksy
2.0Tdi will have bags more torque and therefore will be the better drive IMHO
gizze
I agree, diesel suits that sort of a car far better, and definitley go with the Nav, £230 a year extra and really makes the interior look the part.
Jon
Cheers, thats pretty much what i was thinking. The diesel has 320NM torque and i have sort have become a big fan since my A4 2.5TDi and currently have a Citroen ZX 1.9TDi. Having seen the nav it does complete the interior and as you put it gIzzE it does seem like a no brainer and should also make navigating the 6 disc MP3 changer and Bluetooth phone prep much easier. Just need to check on the mapping as i need UK and France. All things being equal i should be able to come in on budget (£20K) but as i started at 7.5K and increased bit by bit it will still be half the price of my last new car lol. Just need to find out if the headlamps are switchable for the continent and type approval in France as it will most likely end up being re-registered in France in a few years if my plans work out Cheers, Jon. gizze
If the car has bluetooth and MP3 capability then you really must go with the Nav, it becomes a multimedia interface and not just a navigation system, being able to see your MP3 list and see incoming callers and your contacts list on screen really is a nice touch. I went to Nissan and took one out today and it's really nice to drive, the one i drove was a 2.0 petrol manual as they didn't have a diesel there. Metallic paint (Faded Denim) Stainless Steel Side running boards Chrome boot trim Chrome Sill Strips Rear Spoiler Textile Mats Boot liner Got about 9% discount and finance at 5.9%.
