terrymcg
Car looked great, Tiff drove like a mad man as usual. Did you not think the review was a bit short?!!? Still want one!

Wallachie
What a crap feature of one of the most important new cars of this decade!! Very disappointed, they should have had a head to head test against an RS4, or at the very least an E46 M3.... Poor show, Fifth Gear!
sbgwz
i said that exact thing to my brother. theyl potter round in a HGV for 15 minutes crappy boring cars for 10 minutes a boring but beautiful rolls royce for 15 minutes but the most important car of the year and it was 5 minutes of a sheer lunatic bombing it around the track, what about day to day usability? Rant over
cruiser647
Good but short bit of Tiff hooning around in the M3, but I still would not have one. Day to day usability is probably only covered when there are 2 or more cars to compare??? The insides still put me off the M3. Botang
I suspect that they could only use the M3 on the track on this occasion, perhaps a road review and competitor comparison will come at a later date, they did the same thing with the R8. What did you think of the Police driver, as VBH pointed out the 100mph+ through a red traffic light, not sure that will meet with ACPO's approval. AvantSE
Somehow Tom Ford's comment that she would make a better police driver than the police officer would make a racing driver doesn't ring true. She hadn't even set her mirrors - excellent observation there then...
RedRobin
[ QUOTE ] What did you think of the Police driver, as VBH pointed out the 100mph+ through a red traffic light, not sure that will meet with ACPO's approval. [/ QUOTE ] ....That surprised me too. Surely the police driver should have slowed to a more manageable speed to run the red light - A speed with some chance of stopping less than 50 yds further down the road!! Extremely high risk at 100. The silver pickup didn't hear the sirens etc at the roundabout for example.
Snail
Why the heck are there soooo many settings on the M3??? There should just be a big Sport button, and that its, nobody is really going to play with all those settings.

Not a problem for him, but for more 'normal' drivers............

Still carries its risks of course.

[/ QUOTE ] I find iDrive very distracting, just too much visual attention tot he screen is needed for simple changes to audio/nav/phone/climate. Think the 100mph through a red light was not on, but found the police instructors commentary round the track quite amusing.
RedRobin
....Agreed about all the settings on the M3 but I guess that the plus side is that it allows you to customise/personalise your driver settings and then leave them be, rather than twiddle as you drive. Surely the technology is there to create your own preset and just hit one button to toggle on/off. If I was in the market for a fast 2-door coupe I'm sure this latest M3 would be the one! There's something about the feel of a Beemer which I love.
gb110430
yeah are police even allowed to go through at that speed at 100mph surely its against their code of driver safety practice. at a crossing and red light.......
Richy
Why does Tiff have to always go round every corner drift-racer style? It all they ever do on that program. Irritates me.
Woppum
I sort of agree that there is too much to choose from. For example I think there were three suspension settings, three power settings, 2 steering sensitivity settings. Really there should just be full beans and normal mode. Its one thing where you have rubbish drivers (JC/RH/JM) pushing cars past their limits, and showing how a car is controllable past the limit by a normal driver. Its another constantly judging a car by the almost superhuman driving abilities of a professional racing driver

Constantly telling the world you're a 'racing driver' doesn't make you any good. She should leave the driving to TN and JP. In fact she should leave the presenting to someone else too and just clear off.
