Chav
just specced one up as was having a play at the weekend. £47K ffs!! (with nav/bt/hifi/pdc etc). Looks wise, they're really not growing on me much though. Like the new coupe (interior looks nice in beige) but the cab looks naff roof up... but thought i'd have a looky just in case. bells0
Not a fan of the new tin top with the roof up either, should have stuck to fabric.
Alastair_A3
Love the looks of the coupe, not really the cab. 46k! I think i'd be in a porsche boxster/cayman s
gizze
I don't like the new cab, not with the roof up anyway, and you're right alot of money, have to remember that you are into a car that is quicker than the S4 and a lot more enjoyable to drive too, plus it will return 25-30mpg all day as well. This would be my spec. maybe the colurs would be different, but that would be the spec.... Chav
yes spec i was looking at was similar to that, but with front/rear pdc, black with cream leather etc. must have been a couple of other options too as it was 47k. can prob get a reasonable discount Its not worth that money though - its just a 3-series cab. was even considering 6-series or just stay with the audi and wait for a5 cab. I did think the interior of the 3-series coupe was nice though. the cabriolet in the showroom was a poverty spec, but the coupe felt a very nice place to sit and had a lovely padded steering wheel (sounds stupid - but thats the bit you hold all day!) seats were lovely. dials looked a bit cheap, but the cream really made it look a 1000 times better than the black in the cabriolet. shame it looks so crap with the roof up. residuals will be shite too I'd guess. so probably better to pick up an ex-demo also. gb110430
lol.....yeah im gonna wait for an ex demo in two yrs, gone for an eos for now... its strange as i love the cab with top down.....looks really muscular...
gizze
Yeah the steering wheel is awesome on the new BMWs, really small and chunky, I really noticed how bus like the S4 wheel was when going from the 1 series to that, I went to order the RS4 wheel, but after finding out it was £1800 knocked that idea on the head! BeakerBuddy
I totally agree that with the roof up the looks are an acquired taste but it's well worth it to have the cab option. I got one on Wednesday! Grey with red leather...love it. S4 for sale anyone?..

flintybob
I;m not 100% convinced that i should go for an auto. I've got the 'best' auto box in the industry at the moment on my R32 and don't get on with it. I feel that i lose so much in terms of driving pleasure. But then again, i'm not sure i really want the left leg ache when sat in traffic...?!?!?!?!?
gizze
Take them both out and try them then, but if you buy a manual I would buy 3 months old as you will loose £10k on in the first 6 months buying new.
Merlot
Manual for driving, auto for resale. I know its a size bigger but believe me, getting rid of my 550i M Sport(MANUAL BOX) was not easy - its meant to book for £3k under the auto but reality is very different. Yahoo
I got manual in my 335i m-sport. I was in the same predicament coming from a DSG GTI - I didn't want to upgrade my car only to downgrade the transmission. The manual is great, and I think the 335i is more of a drivers car than the 550i above and will hold it's own better come resale. There is clearly a market out there for second hand manuals, and the rarity factor should make them appealing on the second hand private market in a few years - however, not if selling or part ex'ing with a dealer. Ben
My Aunt has a loaded 335i cab in Sparkling Graphite and it really is lovely. That colour suits the coupe and cab very well IMHO. I've driven the coupe with the Auto box and kept thinking it was SMG and it really isn't! It kicked down when I didn't want it to and I kept pushing and pulling the paddles the wrong way! I thought a Manual box was the way forwards on this car, but then decided that it isn't really actually that hardcore (me hoping it was a cheap M3) and probably is better off with Auto. Great place to be and much better engine range than the A5. Cheers Ben
