Booster
My dad collected his new car yesterday, a 320i SE Auto. He did 70 miles in it; a mixture of A roads, town and motorway and it averaged 42mpg!!!! The road tax is only £140 p.a. as well. Being an auto the engine doesn't cut out when the car is at a standstill so the manual would be even more efficient. Top marks to BMW for the Efficient Dynamics engines. Audi really do need to up their game. I saw a lovely 530d in the showroom and I really think I want one....
gizze
They are amazingly economical, even the 335i would see 30+ at times, I reckon I would be putting in £100 a week in the S4 compared to £60 in the 335i doing the same sort of driving, plus the 335i is the quicker car. Very clever stuff going on. That was pre facelift version too, the facelift version is menat to be a fair bit more economical as well.
gb110430
booster yeah Bmw have really upped their game and will eventually get the efficient dynamics fully incorporated in auto's. however all this has cost them a lot of investment and this tech may/should come in mercs in future as its likely they will join up and be engine partners as the cost of designing these technologies is costing big time. either way a bmw individual will go bmw and mercedes indiv, will go merc give or take. im lokking forward to 2010 when i get rid of my eos and get in that high performance and very efficient BMW.......wooooo
Tarmac_Terrorist
I've not reset my fuel computer since new. I've just done over 3000 miles and it's averaged 38.2 mpg (Shell V Power). Can't complain about that!
