Mo-S3
Going to work this morning and as i came along the A34 bypass in Gatley just after the speed camera some daft bat in her Toyota Corolla pulls out of the middle lane into the 3rd lane where i was. I saw her; managed to sound the horn and get my foot to the brakes but was no use. She signaled and then moved immediately resulting in the cars colliding. Her off side rear corner hit my near side front corner pushing me into the central reservation kerb. My car literally was on two wheels when i hit the kerb. Front corner of my car is mashed, front panel broken, front bumper, hanging on the floor, drivers seat airbag went off due to the sideways shunt, off side front and back alloys are destroyed along with the front nearside one too. Her car car has got a damaged rear wing, buckled alloy, rear bumper and smashed rear screen. I got out went to see how she was and exchanged details. I asked her why she didnt see me and why she suddenly came into my lane but didnt reply. Asked if she was admitting liability to which she said no and said let the insurers deal with it. Thinking about it now i was too nice to her as she had fairly rude attitude. Got my car home now and seems like the suspension has taken a good knock too with the ESP going crazy as well. Insurers (Direct Line) said they would get Polar Ford to the repair to which i said no thanks i will find my own bodyshop. Contacted SKF in stockport who arranged for Accident Exchange to get in touch with me and get me a courtesy car. Audi said they will have to strip the car to assess the damage in order to provide an accurate quote. Anyone dealt with Accident Exchange? Whats the idea behind this? Do you think with the car being damaged like i have described they will repair it or write it off?
Andyuk911
I would be very careful ... I can hear her saying, she indicated changed lanes and you were going too fast and hit her and spun her around .... Did you get a witness ? I hope so

If it isn't clear for you to perform a manoeuvre, especially without causing another driver to have to take evasive action, then you don't make it. As he's told it, I fail to see how she could argue it wasn't her fault. Edit: I forgot to offer my sympathies for the incident and wish you good luck in getting it resolved. cruiser647
Sorry to hear that. However, if it was just after the speed camera, you should be doing the speed limit, so that needs to be highlighted by you in any correspondence. Was her lane clear? If so, tell the insurance company that there was no reason for her to move. Good luck!
steelwind101
Ouch!! I hate it when these things get complicated. I hope you get it sorted out and your car comes back with a decent repair. Geoff

[/ QUOTE ] Not always true, I have had them come esp. if you dont remove your car. Either way, there is always some confrontation/anger on the roads after a crash. I always phone 999 there has been a crash, not to sure if anyone is hurt but things are getting rowdy. Often the other person in the crash hears that and gets pissed but if it wasnt your fault and you want the polive there then they have come when i have said that. The quality of workmanship was the worst ever seen. sorry about the grammar, nelson mandela has just kicked in. However be very careful with the stockport bodyshop. richy_uk
I've used Accident Exchange when someone did a low speed shunt into my rear bumper. Guy admitted his fault and bodyshop organised Accident Exchange to get in touch. Following day, they turned up at my house with a Boxster and drove mine off to the bodyshop. 3 days later, I collected my car (only needed a new rear bumper) and left the Accident Exchange car there. Totally painless.

RedRobin
That's a bummer, mate. Just goes to show how easily it happens. As others have said: Stick to your guns and write it all out while still fresh in your mind.
S3Bangs
Moshan.. Sorry to hear of this mate and I hope it all goes well for you. From what you've described, I'm thinking the car would probably not be economical to repair from the sounds of it. Just thinking mind you. See if you had a banana now, she'd have seen you a mile off Get writing down what happened and draw up a few diagrams to boot for your defence or proof of what happened as you have no witnesses, then send it to your insurance company asap. From what I found out myself recently, people can be funny and try to wriggle out of blame. Take any pictures at the scene? This helps quite well. Oh, also to the people saying about people not stopping to be a witness. From my personal experience, I'd think twice before I did it again as I was to a very bad accident I witnessed about two years ago. I've been to court on five different occasions now and nothing, I mean absolutely nothing has been done so far on this traffic case. It's one excuse or another and being a witness, you're locked up in a secret room at the courts for hours on end each time. Not something I'd do again in a rush
OliFH
I used Accident Exchange after VW recommended them, and to be fair they were pretty good. Only gripe for me was their opinion that a 320d was a 'like-for-like' vehicle to replace the R32

Phil1978
I also have used accident exchange, they were spot on and really helpful when someone reversed into the front of my car. OliFH, was that a silver coupe that they gave you?? If so, I had that when it had 26 miles on the clock But as you said, not really a like for like with your car. OliFH
It was a black m-sport on an 07 plate...they gave it to me with 70-odd miles on the clock and i put over 1,000 on it in 10 days! When I said how is a 2.0 4 pot diesel comparable to a 3.2 petrol she said "well it is the m-sport"
