Gren
Got an old cassette recording (Paul Oakenfold Goa Mix from early 90s) that I'd like to get onto my laptop. Got the cables to feed line out from stereo into the line in socket on my laptop. Not sure about the software end though. Anyone know what's the best to use - needs to be free or trial though as this will be a one off. Use Nero 8, Winamp and SonicStage at the moment. Will any of these do what I need? Jape
Ooohhhh...sorry to hijack this one, but it has reminded me that I have a recording on cassette that I need to transfer to PC, but I don't have a cassette player any more. Doh. Does anyone know of anywhere I can take the tape to get it transferred to CD/HDD? I tried a few years ago, but no joy. I don't really want to buy a cassette deck just for this! The tape may be pretty valuable, and contains a one-off recording of interest, so I am willing to pay a bit to get it done.

AntW
there are USB tape decks, but they cost £90 or thereabouts. Have a look on fleabay for an old cassette player maybe?
