Mattchaps
Sorry but this really bugged me... [rant] Firstly, you are a middle aged man driving a middle of the range car - You're just an average man, so get a life. Why, when you see a young lad in a nice car (MkIV R32) do you feel the need to keep as close to his bumper as possible whilst on the motorway, in heavy traffic? And then, when you think you see a space, decide to go from the 3rd lane to the 1st lane and undertake both the R32 and a young lady in a Corsa who became sandwiched in the 2nd lane? Whilst undertaking you then expect to get ahead of the R32, but fail, so continue to inhail the exhaust fumes and decide to have a top speed competition? When the R32 indicates and moves across to 2nd lane and gently slows due to knowing a high police presence generally around a junction, do you continue to travel a high speed, overtaking the R32 (almost clipping the bumper you were so close) and whilst doing so glare at the young lad as tho he is being the idiot, who is in the wrong, and clearly doesn't respect other drivers? You are a f*cking tw@t if ever I have met one on the road, you clearly have no respect for any other road user and think that you are far superior to anyone else. Well you are NOT. IMO you have a sh!t car, and I hope that because of the way you drive it, it fails catastrophically and sends you into a field at high speed whilst managing not to involve anyone else in the incident. Clearly a pile of [Apologies to anyone here who has one] [/rant] Wow, now I can start my day afrest p.s. This is in no way intended to offend anyone and it is not directed at any one of you lovely people here on TsN other than the aformentioned Avensis man. khutula
Nice post Matt - there are far too many of these drivers about. The ones that drive up your ar5e in a 30 and then ovetake you whilst giving you the finger are slightly worse. Hope you have a good day
Chav
I don't think Robin is going to be impressed...The Avensis is his daily drive - he was probably just trying to say hi to you!
Sparky
There are times when I have tossers like that, that I wish I didn't have to be somewhere, otherwise I'd follow them until they stopped.

mark88
Pretty much everyone on the motorway drives too close to the car in front. Drives me mad. Coming up the M1 last week a woman in a van was a cars length behind me in rush hour. I'm a good 5-6 lengths away from the car in front of me which brakes suddenly, I knew If I hit the brakes too the van behind would plough straight through me so I have to swerve from the 3rd into the second lane purely because some idiot wants to drive right up my ass. Ska
Why oh why do people tail gate? I'm in a 40 zone with traffic in front doing 40ish chav lad comes up behind me and sits so close I can only see the top half of his chav 206. From now on I'm just gonna slow right down and they can try and over take
330dcoupe
It's all well to say anyone tailgating is a tosser - and if your doing 70-80 on a motorway, and they're still up your chuff, then they are a tosser. But sometimes people use tailgating as a scare tactic, or a hint to the lane hogger in front to get them out of the way. Motorway driving is based on decisions made in seconds and actions that last seconds - so for me, it's suicidal to be tailgating on motorways. I generally keep about 7-8 car lengths and if I do feel the person in front is taking the p*ss or being anal - just give em a little flash of the light. (is that legal?) Mattchaps
Agreed 330dcoupe, people tailgating as a hint that you are hogging a lane is also a tw@tish thing to do. A little flash of the lights is a lot more polite and a lot safer too
jwo
while we are on the subject, to the complete kn0b in Civic Type R on A41 aylesbury to bicester road yesterday am, who put me up massively by pulling into space in front of me to avoid head on after he attempted to make a ridiculous 2 car overtake, and then had the audacity to give me the bird when a honked my horn! My wife said I should have hung him out to dry - but didn't fancy being done for dangerous driving! anyway, ran tover. the chap in avensis sounds look a class one tool, ignore him and let him suffer from green eyed monster syndrome! randellp
330d coupe - Highway code says: "Flashing headlights. Only flash your headlights to let other road users know that you are there. Do not flash your headlights to convey any other message or intimidate other road users." So, yes, you could argue that if driver in front of you in lane 3 doesn't know you are there, a flash of lights is perfectly acceptable and legal way to say you would like him to move out of the way so you can pass. Whether he feels you are acting in an intimidating manner and then ignores your request, is a different matter....
Calm Chris
[ QUOTE ] I've done that [/ QUOTE ] Me too Mondeo man, pulled lane 2-> 3, I was in 3 and he cut me up. When I put finger to my head to suggest he needed a brain check, he puts brakes on really hard at 85mph (not kms). I drop back, 20 miles later he pulls in to a welcome break, so do I. As the fat fecker drops his fat feet out the car I appear, mention who I am and why I'm there. Fat tries to get back in car, I get to keys and launch them. Fatty left trying to work out how to get keys down from the trailer roof of Stobarts finest 40 tonne truck If I'd been in a really pi55ed mood I'd have ripped his face off, so in a way it was his 'lucky' day
sotty
"Toyota Avensis man "??? I dont think you need to categorise them... there are w3nk3rs in every type of cars on the road, from micras upto veyrons. From what I've seen, the faster the car the bigger the w3nk3r. [/ QUOTE ] For me it was the absolute to**er who came up the inside in lane 2 then cut me up on Sunday on the M6 just because he wanted in lane 3 in heavy traffic for a quarter of a mile before coming off at J16. This to**er was in a modified Golf, and obviously gave a s**t about his car, yet forced me to brake hard just missing his rear corner by inches. If you just shout at them, they will do the same again to someone else. However, if you make them remember you, they will think twice before pulling such a move again. Just remember to get the plate in case they get yours and call the police with some bullshit story. Ian
