rowdyaudi
Good afternoon all. CAn anyone please help. In this instance I am on the brink of purchasing an 05 plate XKR-S , but it needs to fulfil the very necessary function of being an occasional family trasnsporter. By this I mean, a Mrs., along with two Mstrs., one aged 4, the other 1. In summary, what options exist for rear child seating in the XKR coupe, as if nothing logical springs to mind I may have to shop elsewhere. Can I fit a lady, a toddler, and a baby, in this car? How? Thank you very much.
theduisbergkid
Might sound 'unsafe', but I guess the bucker type rears of the Jag will be nice and snug on a 4 year old without anything more than a cushion or small booster seat. If the 1y.o. is in a baby seat things, it'll be rear facing, and a pig to fit neatly into an XKR I would guess. Still, go for it, who wants a f*cking Zafira just because you have kids eh ? Good luck !
cruiser647
I think even the £10 Halfrauds booster seat won't fit flatly on the back seat of the XKR. I doubt they'd fit in any swoopy coupe - unfortunately. Kiddy seat? you will probably need to get one of those rear facing seats with a base unit to stay strapped to the seat. My brother has one in his Alfa Coupe GT.
pingpongpo
Try getting the rear facing seat in and then being able to sit in the passenger seat in front of it. Good luck, you'll need it!!
rowdyaudi
Thanks for comments gents Sounds like I have two hopes with this. Bob- and No-. Bureaucrats and their booster seats for all under 12s. Friend's son is almost 12 and he's like Martin f'ing Johnson. Cheers

nicknick
I seem to remember something about the audi TT rear seats being classed as stage something (1 or 2 maybe) booster seats which meant you could put a toddler in with no other booster. No idea is this true ..or further still if it's something that the Jag has ?
rowdyaudi
Perhaps the seat with no booster would be OK then, for the 4 yr old - who is quite lanky for his age. I believe that there is a 30quid on the spot fine for not meeting the criteria of child seating, but if his belt is done up in a cocoon-like seat in the back of a Jag I'm certain it's a pretty safe place to be all the same. And 30£ is only 30£. Now just leaves the 1 year old. Maybe we just leave the 1 yo at home, as I know he'd not be too chuffed with a rear facing seat in the rear. Not much interesting to look at... How old is the kid in your brother's GT Cruiser647? Jag were no help with a bespoke middle-sized seat; I think I need a category 2 for the youngest, Nicknick. This in contrast to the porka 911 techquipment stuff where you have loads of options for the rear cabin. Perhaps all this is saying after all is that the xkr is an old man's car, whose kids have all grown up and flown the coup.
cruiser647
[ QUOTE ] How old is the kid in your brother's GT Cruiser647? [/ QUOTE ] About 3 weeks old. I was quite surprised when I had a quick look in through the rear window and saw the base of the seat.
